The November General Election will be here in less than 60 days. This election will decide
leadership for our community from national to local levels. East Cleveland’s voter participation is viewed by local, regional, and national elected officials. In our quest to influence regional resources to help improve the quality of life in our community, East Cleveland needs to continuously demonstrate that we are civically active, care about the issues that can be influenced by elected officials and we vote.
If you can recall, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this past March the polls were closed on election day in Ohio. Following this decision was a lot of confusion on how to vote. Our voter turnout was less than 15%. East Cleveland, we can do better than that!
We must anticipate unforeseen circumstances and be proactive.
First and foremost, if you or someone you know is not registered to vote, the last day register to vote in the November Election is October 5th, 2020.
What’s your plan to vote?
There are several ways you can vote:
Option 1: Vote In Person on Election Day
Election Day is November 3, 2020. The polls are scheduled to open from 6:30 am till 7:30 pm.
Option 2: Vote by Mail
To vote by mail, you must fill-out a vote by mail application and send it to the Board of Elections. The Board of Elections will then send you a ballot in the mail. You must then complete the ballot and either mail it or drop it off at the Board of Elections.
If you mail in the Vote by mail application and later decide to vote in person, you will receive a provisional ballot. So please, if you complete an absentee ballot, stick with that plan and vote by mail.
If you wish to Vote by mail, fill out the Vote by Mail Application.

Voting early, whether it’s by mail or in-person will give you enough time to adjust for any unforeseen circumstances.
